Tomorrow is my 27th birthday! Man, that sounds old. It feels like a big jump from 26 to 27 because 26 is still mid-twenties and 27 is late twenties….AHHHHHHHH!
I really don’t mind getting older. I don’t feel old. Yes, I am married and own a house but I still feel like I’m very immature. For instance tonight I will be going out for drinks for celebration part 1, and tomorrow I’m hosting a bbq/joint birthday party complete with drinking games like beer pong.
I think once all my friends start having kids I will feel much more like a grown up. Right now I have some friends who are married, but only one with a baby.
One thing about this birthday is that 30 is now just three years away. I’ve been thinking, and there are a few things I want to do before I turn 30. Here is my “late twenties” bucket list:
- Complete a half ironman
- Qualify for Boston
- Move to the west coast (or Colorado)
- Plant and maintain a vegetable garden
- Sew an article of clothing
- Write a book
- Travel to Asia
I also have some professional goals which I am keeping off the blog for obvious reasons. I might not be able to accomplish all this in the next three years, especially if I get injured again or anything else unforeseen gets in the way. But a girl can dream, right?
Do you have any long-term goals on the horizon? Have you made a bucket list? If so, what’s on it?

You have inspired me to write a pre-thirty bucket list as well! I’m 27 as well and I remember trying to convince my husband on my last birthday that 27 was just “late mid-twenties”. Haha. Happy birthday!
Love your list! I have my own that I’m working towards and I love being able to cross things off
Good luck!
I’m turning 22 next week and I feel so old, even though I know it’s not. I thought that I would be in a much different place turning 22 but sometimes the most best laid plans change? I’d like to one day run a marathon and sell wedding cakes, those are the BIG things on my bucket list!
