I had a really good visit in DC. I have to admit though, after 9 days I was ready to get back to my dog, my own house, and humidity-free-mosquito-free living.
I was back in DC because my friend Lauren got married on July 14th. Lauren isn’t any old friend. We’ve been best friends since we were 14 years old. We’ve both changed a lot over the years, but unlike my relationships with other friends, our changes seemed to always be in sync. We talked on the phone every day through college, and still talk a few times a week.
If that wasn’t enough, she met her now husband through Neil (Neil and Dave have been good friends since elementary school). So visits and hanging out with the two of them is always awesome and effortless. Hence why we chose to elope when we were visiting them.
I had a great time at her wedding, but I have to admit my favorite parts of my week home were when we were just hanging out together. We went shopping, out to lunch, and out on the town. All these things made me miss living in the same city as Lauren.
Other highlights of the week included:
Lots of time with dogs, including my love Joey!
Bike riding with my dad.
Meeting up with a new Ironman and her cute pups.
A pain-free 3 miler around my parent’s neighborhood. NOT humidity free though.
A very, very messy bachelorette party.
A trip to Rock Creek Park & Pete’s Apizza.
A private tour of the West Wing.
Catching up with friends.
Seeing my best friend marry her best friend.
I have a few blog posts back-logged that I haven’t gotten around to posting, so hopefully I’ll catch up this week!

glad you had such a good week! But selfishly I am glad you are back.
