Mother’s day brunch & dinner were both a success.

A Restful Weekend

This weekend was the first weekend in a while I didn’t think about workouts after Friday’s 5K.

I spent the weekend with my cousin Melissa and we had a great time.

We rode the bikeshare around town.

We ate a great brunch on Bourbon’s patio, including complimentary donuts.

We shopped and [...]

Three Things Thursday

I completed weekly goal #1 this morning and went to my second boot camp of the week.  I was worried that bad weather was going to shut us down, but the rain held off.  We did tons of lunges, squats, crunches, jumping jacks and some sprints.  I know my legs are going to be feeling [...]

Back to Boot Camp

This weekend was one of those great weekends that make me wonder if every day would be that awesome if I didn’t have a job. Probably not, but I like to dream. Highlights included:

One relaxing night in, one night out for dinner and drinking with friends Sleeping in until 10:30 am Sunday (!!) thanks [...]

Summer Races

Remember how I was enjoying a non-training plan?  Well, with all of this travel lately April has flown by and it is time for me to get serious about triathlon training.  I finally picked a race and signed up for the Rock Hall International Triathlon. The best part of this race is that it is [...]

Bike-aholic

Back in January, my dog Leela hurt herself badly when we were hiking in Rock Creek Park.  At first the vets thought it was her knee and she was going to need surgery, which would have been a very long recovery and expensive.  But after we noticed her ankle was swollen, the third vet we [...]

A New Non-Training Plan

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments on my National Half recap. I’ll admit, I was feeling pretty down in the dumps about not hitting my PR, but your comments really put things in perspective. There will be other races and I will break 1:50. I was also feeling down because I ended [...]

The Day Before a Race

You know it is the day before a race when….

You wake up to nightmares about messing up your race goals.  I’ll be honest, taking so much time off the last two weeks for my leg to heal is having a serious impact on my confidence to break 1:50 tomorrow.  But I’m hoping if I [...]

National Half Marathon Goals

I’m very excited the National Half marathon is only a few days away. This race holds a special place in my heart because in 2008 it was my first big race. I started running short distances in the beginning of 2007. Colleen (who was my housemate at the time) and my friend Nyema were training [...]

Playing Catch-up

First things first I had an awesome time in Milwaukee.  We ate, we drank, we were merry.

Cousin, Me, her boyfriend Bryan

The weather went from beautiful blue skies my first day to a tons of snow and wind by the time I left.  I can’t wait to go back this summer.
