This past weekend was one of those that I wished would never end. Friday morning, Neil and I naively attempted our first 14er (aka a hike that exceed 14K feet). We chose Quandary Peak because it was somewhat on the way to our final destination in Salida, CO AND it was only 5.6 miles [...] I’m very happy to report that my weekend starts…. …..NOW! After a very stressful week, we are packing up and heading out to the Shenandoah Valley to go camping with Matt & Kristen (+ 2 pups). We did this together last year, and it was a blast, so I’m very excited. I love everything [...] I hope all my fellow Americans had a great long weekend. I’m back from Portland, OR and instead of doing a big recap post I’m giving you the Cliff Notes version. This is my third time visiting Portland, and the first time we had nice weather. Nice weather meant wine tasting, a street festival, and [...] This week is busy, but short and sweet. Tonight we’re flying to Portland, OR to visit our best friends Lauren & Dave. It’s weird because I feel like we just got back from vacation – I am not certainly not complaining though! Lauren is one of the few friends from high school or college [...] Thank you all for the vacation well wishes! I had a great time. When we got there, I discovered we didn’t have Internet or cell phone service, and only intermittent TV when the satellite worked. The Internet started working on Thursday, but at that point I was really enjoying being completely unplugged and decided to keep it [...] I’m currently driving up the east coast to Lake George, NY. It’s a long 8.5 hour drive, but I’m hoping it will go by quickly because I’m so excited for this vacation. We’re renting a lake house with a big group of friends. The next week I’ll be spending quality time with some of my [...] In the last week, I’ve pretty much finalized my race and travel plans for the summer and it is shaping up to be an awesome one. It will culminate with my brother-in-law and brother both getting married at the end of the summer. I’m so excited! Here is what else is happening: June: One [...] I’m back from the Bahamas! I never officially announced my departure on the blog, just in case someone was planning on robbing the house. Day 1 of our vacation was Thursday morning. A 4:45 wake-up and two flights later, we arrived in Freeport, Bahamas. When planning the trip, we decided to go for [...] Today wasn’t as bad as my usual Monday. One – I took a rest day from working out, so I didn’t have to wake up quite as early. Two – it is my last full work week in 2010! Our offices are closed beginning on the 24th and we don’t come back until January 3rd. [...] Since everyone appreciated my last Jersey Shore reference, I realized the best Jersey Shore catchphrase could describe the last 2 days. GTL – Liz Runs DC style.
